Founded in 1937, Control and Metering is the leader in the design and manufacture of bulk bag handling equipment for demanding applications. We are one of the only manufacturers in the world to focus exclusively on advancing bulk bag handling technology. Our products are ideally suited for applications requiring sanitary ingredient handling, dust containment, flow inducement, complete discharge, densification, accurate weighing and automated systems.

Patented features, unique equipment and expertise derived from over 12 years of manufacturing bulk bag handling equipment for the food and chemical industries allow us to tackle any application.   Products  
         
  Bulk Bag Fillers  

Control and Metering's bulk bag fillers address two types of applications: those requiring maximum ingredient densification to achieve a straight and stable package and those requiring moderate or minimal densification.

The cone table fillers, Model B and Cobra™, provide maximum densification and produce straight sided and stable bulk bags with any ingredient.

The Model A and A/V are low-cost fillers featuring through-pallet densification for applications requiring minimal densification.

All fillers feature the Flexi Fill™ PLC controller designed by Control and Metering specifically for bulk bag filling. The Flexi Fill is easily expandable and is capable of controlling automated bag and pallet handling systems.

 
         
  Cone Table Fillers  

The Model B and Cobra fillers are designed for use with ingredients whose tamped and untamped bulk densities differ by more than 10 - 15%. Even ingredients that have a small variation in bulk density may require maximum densification as the height of the bulk bag approaches 50" or if bags must be stacked.

The cone table in the Model B rises and lowers as the bag is filled. In the down position, the bag is weighed by the high-resolution hang weigh system and the bag fabric is stretched to improve bag stability. In the up position, the bottom of the bag rests directly on the vibrating cone table. The Model B requires a forklift to remove the filled bag.

The Cobra ABR provides the same cone table benefits as the Model B and features automated bag handling. The C-frame Cobra design allows for very flexible layout options.

 
         
  Through-pallet Fillers  

The Model A and Model A/V fillers feature through-pallet densification meaning that the bag rests on a pallet throughout the fill cycle and the pallet is vibrated from below. This is a much less effective means of de-aerating the ingredient compared with the cone table and does not stretch the bag.

The base Model A features a four-post frame, twin tube fill head with bladder seal for the bag inlet spout and fixed hanger arms for the bag loops. A wide range of options are available for the Model A including weighing, densification and liner inflation.

The Model A/V filler features automatic bag removal, weighing and through-pallet densification via a vibrating grid table that rises between the rollers of the integral conveyor.

 
         
  Bulk Bag Dischargers  

Control and Metering dischargers use a steep sloped hopper to mold the bottom portion of the bag into a silo shape and safely support the bag. Combined with pulsed vibration, the result is a proven and very successful method of discharging even the most difficult ingredients.

 
         
  Flo and Flo Easy Dischargers  

The Flo series dischargers feature a 60º-sloped hopper, a gum rubber dust membrane and two 4" diameter dust vents to contain dust, safely support the bag and empty difficult flowing ingredients.

The Flo Easy series dischargers feature a 40º-sloped hopper and a single dust vent for use with less dusty and easier flowing ingredients.

 
         
  Iso Flo™ Dischargers  

The Iso Flo dischargers feature the patented Flo Super Clean liner and outlet spout clamping system enclosed in a user-friendly isolation chamber. The clamp system seals the bag outlet. The isolation chamber draws away dust that may be created as the bag is rigged or removed. This combination of technologies provides total containment of airborne particles at each stage of the discharge process.

The Iso Flo 60 is used with difficult flowing ingredients. The Iso Flo 40 is used with easier flowing ingredients.
